Those who have been with us since the beginning know that when we first launched, we were keen to deliver even a single bottle of beer to anyone who was thirsty. While we were able to do this back in the day, things done changed!
In order to continue to perform at our highest level, we knew we had to create some rules around ordering. That's when we decided on a minimum for our Marketplace orders.
Good question. We found that when we were doing these teeny tiny deliveries, we were in-fact losing money. While it hurts our hearts not to be able to accommodate everyone, we knew that losing money, was not ideal when it comes to maintaining a company. We want to make sure that we're not only giving our clients the best service of all time, but that we're also making enough money on each delivery to continue to competitively pay the people who work so hard to make Crafty happen.
So, we did some math, cross-checked it with other examples out there, and landed on $250 as our minimum.
Creative Ways to Hit the Minimum
Your minimum is calculated after sales tax and delivery fee, which means, any combination of products totalling $205 or more will meet the minimum when delivery and taxes are added in
If you normally order only one keg at a time, order two! If it's beer or wine, it doesn't need to be kept in cold storage which means, it can stay at room temperature until you're ready to use it. Depending on the size of the keg, it can take 1-3 hours to cool down once it's moved into your kegerator.
What if you're almost there, but you don't want to order another keg? Good news! We sell all different kinds of kitchen and pantry products. How about a box of Kind Bars or a box of Paper Towels? We’ve got a ton of products to offer that can help you hit that minimum.
I don't have enough cold storage to order more perishable kegs!
Cold storage can be hard to come by when it comes to cold brew, kombucha and tea kegs. We know that doubling up on your order to meet the minimum is hard when you have nowhere to put the extra kegs and storing them at room temp will cause them to go bad.
Many of our clients have actually purchased a second kegerator for cold storage! A kegerator is essentially a mini fridge with some bells and whistles. We can get you just the mini fridge part so that you can stock up on the good stuff and hit the minimum.
Exceptions to the Rule
We just, unfortunately cannot make them. Trust us when we say, we are nearly allergic to saying "no" to people; however, to make sure we are the best company we can be, and providing the best service available to our clients, we've had to learn to say "no" sometimes.
We want to be able to serve everybody but the truth of the matter is, if you can't see yourselves hitting our minimums, we are probably not a great fit to serve you.
